Dear Constitution,
Here I stand to question you
For I seem to be lost
In this Gambia that
We claim operates on your clauses
Is it really written in you
That bigger heads can bend the law
That the court can whip some
And free some
For the same crime
Dear constitution,
Please come to my aid
Haven’t you empowered PURA
To look into public utilities
Why are the internet providers still exploiting us
Dear constitution,
Is it really true that teachers
Have to remain at the bottom of the economic ladder
That our counterparts will outshine us forever
Dear constitution,
I hope you’re aware that
The son of nobody does not become anybody
Without the help of somebody
