The UTGSU on Wednesday 19th June, 2019, officially received some farming equipment and fifty litres fuel coupon from National Agricultural Research Institute ( *NARI* ). The presentation of these materials (a shine hoe, and a seeder) was held at the institute’s headquarters in Brikama.

This gesture was in response to the Council’s engagement with NARI’s authority to support our Agricultural development agenda.

Presenting the equipment to the UTGSU, the Director General of NARI, Mr. Ansumana Jarju, said the gesture is part of fulfilling his institute’s cooperate social responsibility. He stressed NARI’s resolve and commitment to support and collaborate with the UTGSU in practical Agricultural development. He challenged the SU to remain proactive and resilient in championing Agriculture and its development in the UTG and The Gambia in general. In his closing remarks, DG Jarju also promised the council internship opportunities for UTG students.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Council, the President expressed words of gratitude and appreciation for the gesture. He emphasized the timeliness of the gesture. HE Dampha maintained that this has definitely marked the very beginning of our lasting partnership. He assured NARI of the utmost utilization of the materials.

In light of this, the council once again asks for the continuous support and collaboration of every student in the UTG towards the actual realisation of greater output.
