The University of The Gambia Students’ Union and the UTG Career and Wellness Centre conducted a two-day evaluation retreat of the UNDP-funded Graduate Scheme from December 20th to 21st, 2021 at Mansakonko.
Initiated in June 2021, the UTG-UNDP Graduate Scheme is a structured training program that seeks to avail University students an opportunity to complement their formal education with practical career-related experience through systematic deployment to government institutions for internship.
The pilot segment which witnessed the deployment of twenty-four (24) UTG students to Local Government Area Councils concluded this month and has been assessed and evaluated by all stakeholders accordingly. The said Students have not just accomplished their assigned ToRs, but have remained staunch Ambassadors of UTG.
While the Graduates of the Scheme are congratulated on registering tremendous successes, efforts to extend this great initiative are underway.
