The United Nations General Assembly decided in resolution A/RES/69/145 to designate 15 July as World Youth Skills Day. Today, the National Youth Council of the Gambia in partnership with the University of the Gambia Students’ Union, GTTISU and MDISU jointly organised a national event to commemorate this important day with the rest of the world.
The event brought together tertiary level students, youth leaders, artists, poets among a host of relevant stakeholders to raise awareness on the importance of investing in youth skills development and it’s significance in the labor market. Participants were able to engage in an interesting discussion and the need for the government to invest in Technical and vocational education training(TVET).
The UTGSU would love to thank all the students who graced the occasion and to it’s partner organisations in making the event a success. #SkillsChangeLives
